Today we got some numbers that surprised us, but in some other ways they didn't.
Jared has been having his re assessment done over the last few months and today was the last part. He was tested in the "Verbal" department, meaning how well does the student listen, understand, follow directions. This tests actually goes over Verbal and Visual learner strategies.
We soon realized that Jared thrives with Visual learning. He is much more a hands on learner, and is very quick.
There were 4 different sections and everytime Jared completed a section at that level he would advance to the next level. He completed into second grade. His final scoring on this test was given in 4 parts. This part was interesting to me. Scoring goes 1-10, 10 being the highest. Jared scored, 15, 12, 18, and 16. I know, what? Off the charts.
Then came the rest of the scores.
There was an IQ for Both, Visual and Verbal which showed that Jared thrived in Visual. Then there was the biggie at the end.
Jared has an overall IQ of 132. He was a bit of a wiggle wart today and was a busy body, so honestly he could be a few points higher which is what the PHD said today as well.
This is how IQ is measured
| 130 and above | Very Superior/Gifted |
| 120-129 | Superior |
| 110-119 | Above Average |
| 90-109 | Average |
| 80-89 | Below Average |
| 70-79 | Borderline Mental Deficiency |
| 69 and Below | Possible Mental Deficiency |
Either way he is a smarty and I am now trying to decide the best scenario for him for schooling.
We have a few options but all of them have good points and bad points.
-Homeschool, work at the pace he wants, no anxiety with being left, freedom of being able to work around your own schedule. I've looked into a few different options.

-Eburg schools, he would get social for sure, but then I worry about the class size and not getting the attention he needs/deserves. I'm afraid that he would get bored and become labeled a trouble maker. I'm afraid that he will get distracted with the other kids, I don't know.
-Damman (If he is even accepted), he would get the social, smaller class size, the possibilty of maybe being able to work ahead, since here 1 teacher teaches 3 grades.
It is just so hard to know. Since being home for the summer he hasn't had hardly ANY anxiety issues. Of course there have been the moments when we are doing something different from the norm that causes issues, but on the whole things have been good for him. During the school year, everyday was so hard for him. Even the days he didn't go to school he worried about school the next day, how long he would be at school, when I would be coming back.
In some ways the answer seems obvious, but in other ways I don't know if it is the best.
OHHHH!!!!!
I love that he is so smart, and loving, but sometimes I think life would be easier for him a bit if he didn't have such a big brain! If you know what I mean.

Pray - hard (I'm sure you already are) but keep it up. Sometimes we want to get things sorted NOW but we have to wait. You'll hear soon and then you can make your decision.
I agree with your mom, maybe throw in a fast or two. But from the outside looking in, you are his mom so you want whats best for him right now...it might have to be a trial and error thing. He is only 5 years old, plenty of time to figure out where he should be. Pick an option you feel good with and test the waters. Worst scenario you hop to option 2. Once again, good luck!
