Out with the old and in with the new

So the end of this last year has been rather...........sucky, for lack of saying something naughty.

Sickness came in November and last all month long.  We had healthy bouts between important events and dates, but there was always something lingering.  As Christmas came closer people were still sick with fevers, headaches, coughs, sinus infections and the sort.

The kids were healthy enough to make it over the pass for Christmas with medicine in tow.  We even picked up more at Target while in Tacoma.  No one else seemed to carry the particular nebulizing meds for Jared. 

We had to come home the day after Christmas, but that actually seemed to be a good thing cuz that night Jared was running a fever of 102.3.  A couple days past and on the 29th I took Carys to the doctor due to ear issues, that resulted in a double ear infection.  The next day Jared broke out in hives.  The poor boy had an allergic reaction to his Antibiotic he got the week before.  No more "cillins" for him. Not too blown away, there is a family history of "cillin" allergies.

But the topper was New Years eve.  I ended up taking Aaron to the hospital with a horrible headache.  We rang in the New Year in the ER.  After meds and scans Aaron was admitted into the hospital with a severe sinus infection that had gotten into every sinus cavity.  He was hooked up to tons of antibiotics and pain meds and there he stayed for a couple days. 

So here I had a husband in the hospital. A child with horrible hives, a child with an ear infection and then just to be awesome... a healthy Ally!  I loved her for that. Those couple days were nuts, but we survived. 

He is home now and has seen his ENT doctor who has said that he is most likely going to need to have another sinus surgery.  This will be his 3rd.  This just doesn't seem right.  I think there is a underlying factor though and that we need to find out.  An allergen or something that is causing such a reaction with his sinuses.  Our insurance doesn't cover allergy tests for adults though, so that is a bill we are going to have to deal with alone.  In the meantime he is having another (more in depth) scan to get a better look at what Dr. Black is dealing with.
