We went to Tacoma for 4 days. Aaron had engagements that involved airplanes and the kids and I chilled with my Mom and Dad. We hadn't been to Tacoma in almost 2 months, so the kids were excited and I was excited to get out of the triple digit weather.
The day we left Jared lost a tooth. His first one on the top in front. It had been ready since it had been knocked looser a few prior. It was really bothering him, so Aaron finally got it out. YAY!
The girls loved lounging. After sprinkler time. Though Carys never did go in. She has a thing about sprinklers. She doesn't like them.
The next day we went to the beach. There were Jellyfish everywhere. The kids loved them. My Mom, not so much.
We also spent a morning on the Ferry. We went from Point Defiance to Vashon Island. While heading over we saw a Whale! Yes a whale! It was so cool!
Carys had a hard time on the boat. She didn't like the wind and then once they blew the horn as we were coming in... Wow! She was done. Twerp!
After we got home from the ferry I made lunch and told the kids they needed some quiet time. Jared came out a few minutes later saying he lost a tooth. I was surprised, since this other one wasn't last loose, but he said and I quote, "I lost control of my head and hit my mouth on my knee." I laughed!
Lesson to ones self. Don't loose control of your head, or you might lose a tooth.
Tooth fairy came twice in Tacoma!
The next day we hit a park!

The day we came home there was a party for Uncle Mitchie.
He is off to school in Logan Utah to get his Doctorate.
He came by the day before they left for a few minutes with the kids.

Then there is this week.
Ally started a dance camp. It is a couple hours a day. She loves it.
Tomorrow she has a performance and gets to have her picture taken with Anna and Elsa! She is so excited for that part!
The day we got home from Tacoma, we were headed home after the party for Mitchie when we saw some smoke billowing from the hills behind us. Snag Canyon fire has been burning since. It is around 13,000 acres, so not huge, but it is bad enough. 2 years ago the fire we had here was over twice as large, but this one is bad enough.
We have had lots of smoky days and those are hard.
With that being said, we have had lots of interesting aircraft hanging around helping with the fires.

Jared went with Daddy to drop off some work and they found these sitting by CWU ready to help with the fires too.
Yesterday Jared got to go into another Black hawk. Aaron has a buddy who is a Captain at JBLM. They are here to help with the fires. Aaron got a text from Kevin yesterday saying come on over to the airport and you can come in. So off they went last night.
Jared got to put on the flight gear and pretend he was flying. He had a blast.
The fire is 50% contained, but I guess they are planning on being around for at least another week or so. Looks like more airport time is in my future.
