DC-10

With fires all around us we have had some interesting aircraft around us.  One of those being the biggest tanker AKA the DC-10.  This airplane drops the red fire retardant 11,600 gallons of retardant each time.  One thing I learned is that the retardant is also a fertilizer that helps regrowth of the plants and trees after the fire is gone.  I thought that was rather cool.

Anyway, Aaron was told he could go in and take pictures of the big ol' beast, so of course that had to happen.  It had been 3 years since we all went to Moses Lake (an hour away) so we went.  There is a fun park for the kids that they went to last time so after the plane we hit the park.

So here ya go.  The kids and a big ol' plane and the park.

If you look the ground is red around the plane.  Extra retardant from filling it.

Jared in an engine

Carys wasn't too thrilled to be there, cuz it was high, but she sat.

As soon as the others stood, she was DONE NOW!
They look like the same height due to curvature of the engine.

We went inside and the kids went for a walk on the wing.
Jared thought it was funny that his shirt kept puffing!

Carys was not okay with going out on the wing.

Pilots!

Then we hit the park.  We weren't able to be there as long as we wanted due to a big wind and rain storm that suddenly blew through.  Here we go though!

Last time we were here, this little one was 7 months.

This one was 2

This big guy was 4

I was impressed with this girl.  She is scared of heights, but she was climbing and sliding all on her own, with no worries!

Monkey girl!

Love her

and her

This boy was moving too fast to get many pictures and a lot of them are blurry like this.  Slow down child!

and of course him!

Just a comparison from last time on the frog.
She loves this frog.  So funny.

She got more out of it this time.

My sweet boy is getting so big.
