The time spent in Tacoma

As I mentioned in the last post the fire is now under control and possibly out.  But before that was the case I had to get the kids out of the smokey air, especially Jared.  He was suffering from a lot of headaches and issues, so I figured the best thing for him was fresh air.

We spent as much time outside as possible soaking up the clean air and cooler weather.  Plus Jared is allergic to Mom and Dads cat, so as much as he needed the clean air in Tacoma, he was also needing to use his inhaler due to the cat.  It was a mix up of where to go to be the best for him.  Poor boy.

While we were there we celebrated National Cupcake day with a lovely display of chocolate cupcakes.  The kids loved it.
The following morning we headed out to the water. I grew up about 5 minutes away from the water. Neither Mom or I were sure how Carys would react do to the happenings 2 weeks prior at Ocean Shores, but as soon as we got there we knew how things were going to play out.

It was a gorgeous day at the water.  The water was absolutely clear, and really close.

This was Carys' reaction.  It cracks me up.  She was less than impressed to be close to the offending water once again.

Didn't even want to look.

This child was in heaven.  She actually got her pants so wet she went home in just her undies.  She could have stayed all day.

Jared liked it, but preferred digging in the sand or throwing rocks in the water.

I have to give Carys props though.  She slowly warmed up to the idea of me putting her down.  At the very beginning she was actually shaking, and she would not let me put her down.  Though at the end, she had touched the water quickly, she put her toes in the water and called it good.

That being said, she preferred being as far away as possible from the water on the other side of a log digging in the sand.  We were proud that she did what she did. Hopefully next time will go even a bit better.

The rest of the time we were in Tacoma was spent goofing in the yard, making crafts and going for walks. We stayed as long as we needed to, for the air to clear out a bit.
We were able to head home after 4 days.  Aaron was happy to have us all home.

Thanks for letting us crash and intrude Mom and Dad!

You know the more you 'crash and intrude' the better we like it.
