This month so far

So far this month we have done new things and signed up for new and returning things.

Sunday my kiddos went to their new classes.  We no longer have a nursery child.  Seeing that Carys turned 3 in November it made her old enough for Primary.  She was so excited, but nervous once it came down to me leaving.  She did okay though.  A bit bitter sweet that she is old enough to be in Primary with her siblings.

Jared is in need of a haircut REALLY bad.
Add that to his odd smiling lately and he looks a bit nerdy, but hey,
I love my nerd!

The next day I took Jared to the High School and signed him up for Ellensburg Wrestling Club.  First through sixth graders meet up and learn the basics and skills of wrestling with the option of going to tournaments on Saturdays to wrestle other kids their size.  I need to buy him a singlet and it cracks me up.  He needs a xxxxs. HA HA!

The following day he had his first practice and it was so fun to watch.  His best friend Draven is in the club too.  Even though there is about 11 pounds difference between the 2 Jared was able to hold his own.  Jared is a tiny guy weighing in at 44 pounds, so finding someone his age and weight is kind of an issue, but he doesn't let that stop him.  He had a good time and is counting the days til his next practice.
This was the first time that they were able to just "go for it!"

This was take number 2.
I had no idea it was going to take 2 minutes to get everyone ready so if you want to skip ahead to about 2:10 seconds or so you can see them try again.

Yesterday Aaron took Allyson and Jared over to the middle school and got them signed up for T-ball and Rookie.  Seeing that Jared has done 2 years of T-ball he can move up to the next level, meaning rookie, even though with his late birthday he is young enough to do another year of T-ball.  Allyson is SO VERY EXCITED to do T-ball this year.  She asks daily if this is T-ball practice day.  She wants a pink mitt (though I haven't see a right handers mitt in pink) I might have to bedazzle it for her.

Now we are just getting into the new routine adding sports again.  Jared has done 2 years of T-ball, 1 year of soccer.  Trying wrestling and adding Rookie (which will overlap wrestling for a month or so.) I love how they like trying sports.  I am not going to force them to do them, but while they like them and want to try I am all for it.  Try a bunch and find what you truly like then run with it!

On to school.

Jared made Honor Roll and was also recognized for all his hard work at an assembly.  I am so proud of him.  He got 2 certificates and is so proud of himself, which he should be.  He is starting 2nd grade subjects in the next week.

We are deciding what to do next year with Ally.  She has expressed interest in homeschooling with Jared, and that would be fine.  Just trying to juggle 2 will take time, patience and organization.  The other route would be all day kindergarten at one of the 3 elementary school. I really am not a fan of all day for kinders.  That is so long for 5 year olds. Registration started just yesterday so...  UGH!

Okay I think I am done for now.

Lovely pix for the new year and loved the wrestling videos. Boys need a bit of rough and tumble.

It's great fun when kids try new things. Leighton opted out of wrestling last year. I think it intimidates him. haha He'd rather tackle Audrey. Jared did a great job!
