Mohawk and walks

Yesterday on Facebook I posted a few pictures of Jared "Rock the Mohawk" look.

There is a bit of a story behind it though that I wanted to share.
Every Wednesday is letter day at Jared's Preschool.  On letter days you are encouraged to wear, bring, etc things beginning with that letter.  Yesterday was letter "M."

Jared for instance wanted to wear his super Mario Mariokart shirt, Mis-Matched  Merry christmas and lightening McQueen socks.  He took Markers and Money to share with his class. As well as his new little buddy toad the Mushroom.
I told him all those ideas were great, but I had another one.  I said "What if I tried to do a Mohawk with your hair?"  He said "What is a Mohawk?"  I explained it and he wasn't too enthused, but said that I could try it.  I did his hair and the silly boy didn't even want to look.  He was certain that he looked ridiculous.  He really wanted me to change his hair, for the fact that it was different, but after Daddy and I made a big deal about it being cute and fun I was able to talk him into "Just show Mrs. Haberman, she will LOVE it!"

Here is the before school, "Oh my gosh I can't believe you are doing this to me picture."

I took him to school and everybody loved it.  I had told him that if they didn't like it, I would fix it at school, so he didn't feel different.  They thought it was a fun new look and that it suited him and his sparky/fun personality.  Mrs. Haberman hadn't even thought about Mohawk for letter "M." But she thought it was great.

So here he is after school with getting ready for lunch.  I asked him about his hair and this was his response. "What? It was fine!"

I think it suits him rather well.  Not just anyone can wear a Mohawk so well.

I caught him chewing in this picture but I love his eyes in this shot.  He has some of the prettiest eyes I think. Don't tell him his eyes are pretty though.  He will think your calling him a girl.  Not Okay!

CHEESE!
I think we will be doing the Mohawk from time to time.  What do you think?
I think it was good for him to try something new and out of his comfort zone.  He is a man that lieks to stick to the normal, but this was something new and he did it!

On Monday it was sorta nice.  The sun was out, though it was still a bit chilly.
The kids and I needed to get out of the house and I wanted to try out my new Schwinn Tourismo stroller so, I got the bikes out and we hit the sidewalk.

We took a walk for an hour or so, and it was long enough it was really starting to get cold.

I love how this shot turned out.  My 3 kids all in a row.

Who would have guessed we would get snow the next night.
At least we got to enjoy a little bit of sun.
