just words

Today I am feeling a bit pressured.

For those who may not know we a lot coming soon.  We have all 3 kids' birthdays within 12 days of each other.  Allyson is the 28th of October, Carys is the 1st of November and Jared is then the 8th. I know it is all my fault (sorta, none of them went full-term or within 2 weeks of  their due dates) but still, that is a lot to figure out and stress over. Party, presents, dates, money, money, and of course money.

We decided that we are going to have a family party for all 3, which yes, I think is lame, since they are 3 very different people with very different likes and such.  Plus it is lame since this is Carys' first birthday and to me that is a BIG deal.  The other 2 both got their OWN day on their first bdays, but she isn't going to and I feel like a heel for it. I realize though that having 3 parties so close together is hard too, especially for the family members that don't live here in Eburg, so this is just how it is going to have to be.

Jared is now old enough and is also in Preschool, and with that in mind he wants to have some friends over for a party too and I totally get that and would love to do something.  I just don't know WHAT to do.  Our place is small/cramped, and the weather outside right now is questionable at times, but give it a few more weeks and it will just Not be outside party weather at all.  What does a person do?  There are a few places in town, but renting them out for a party just isn't in our budget right now.  This is a VERY expensive time of year, and then add Christmas the following month.  This would be a lot easier if I had a non-limit to where and what to do for a party.
I hate money!  I really do!

Just so you know!

Don't stress. Just let Jared invite 2 or 3 friends over, play good old party games like pin the tail, give the kiddos an easy theme related craft, serve cupcakes, and call it good. I have realized that it doesn't have to be fancy, just fun for the kids that come. We have never rented a party place, and my kids have always had fun. Good Luck!!!

I was just going to suggest the EXACT same thing Jordee wrote! :) Kids don't need much, especially at this age.

And for Carys, just make sure she has the obligatory cupcake or small cake or whatever you traditionally do, getting lots of pictures of her with a messy face. :) When you scrapbook it, you don't have to mention it was a combined party if you don't want to.

Looking forward to all the pictures. :)

I ditto Jordee and Melanie.

One thing I have learned lately is that as long as the special day is recognized the kids will have fun no matter how or where the party is at.

It only takes streamers and balloons over here. :)

Ditto, ditto, ditto! I am all about easy and stress-free these days. There's time for big parties when they're older. We've never "purchased" a party (like Pump it Up or Odyssey I), because they ARE expensive.

I know you'll come up with something awesome, and your kids will love it!
