Monkey and Scissors!

"Let's start at the very beginning. A very good place to start."

But really let's start with Ally aka "Monkey." Her nickname has changed lately do to the fact that she is a climbing fool, with nothing stopping her, except us.

She goes from chairs, to tables, to AC units up to the front window standing, which is what we caught with the camera. Even though you can't see me, I am right there. The front window sill is almost 4 feet up. She went from a box, to the little openings on the ac unit to pulling herself up by the window. The girl is fearless. We need to try to get her into tumbling or gymnastics when we can. She loves flipping, being upside down and all that jazz.

Her latest Speech Therapy went excellent. It was only 2 weeks between appointments and during that time Ally has started saying 5 words. Those being; Whoa, Ba (Ball), Pup (puppy), Ba Ba (bottle), and ti-ti (kitty). Then while at the appointment she said 3 new ones, buba (bubbles), fish, and down.

She is doing great. Our therapist is a great lady who is great with her. She told me that she would love to see her every week, cuz she loves playing and spending time with her, but really 2 weeks apart is best. Next appointment we are having a Tea Party! That should be fun.

Now for the leader of the house otherwise known as Jared, I mentioned a few posts ago that I wanted to introduce scissors and cutting with him. So yesterday while we were at Jerrols I picked up a pair of kids scissors. He was pumped!

He did really well, in these pictures he is holding them upside down and kinda awkwardly, but he insists on holding them that way for now. He was having a great time, so we will work more on that later.

Later we are going to try out his new books that I picked up at Costco on Saturday. My sister Mel has and recommends the BOB book series as great starter books for kids. Costco has 4 big sets right now for only $9.99 each. If there isn't a Costco near you, the link I added shows that the regular size ones are on sale at Amazon right now.  I didn't start with the first Pre-K set for Jared since he already is past that part, but I got the first reading set for him and he is so excited.  I hope to go back and get the others 2 sets soon, so he has them.  Of course Ally will have them to use in the future too.

Yes, I was having a little fun with the "Link" option.

There obviously has a reason Ally got "Dangles" as her favorite soft toy.
Love Jared's look of concentration!
