Okay I apologize if this is long, but here we go.
Yesterday Aaron and I went to UWMC (University of Washington Medical Center) for my appointment with the specialist. Jared stayed with Nana (thanks mom). We started with a scan of my aorta, then scanned the pulse through my neck. Both uncomfortable, but not long, so not too bad.
With this scan they were able to see that my aorta and blood vessels are screwed up. Normally your body pumps around 6 liters per minute but my body is pumping around 10.5! I'm off the charts. My blood vessels are way too big as well. JEEZ LOUISE!
So with that comes High Blood Pressure, High Blood Volume, High Heart Rate. No wonder I haven't been feeling well. And to add to that I have a little swelling, and I already have protein in my urine. A count of 300 is Preeclampsia, and I am about half way there! They said that preeclampsia usually doesn't show until 20 weeks, and I am 15 weeks today.
So I have a new Med that SHOULD bring my BP and Heart Rate back down. And that should help with my headaches. I hope anyway.
So I go back to the Specialist in 8 weeks, and we will see how things are going then. Until then I still see my High Risk Doc here. Again another pregnancy with 2 or more docs. At least I'm being carefully watched. Thank heavens for double insurance!
Nothing is really known about preeclampsia with why and how some people get it and others don't. They have done studies and studies. I guess I'm just 1 of those weirdies out there. I wish I wasn't!

Well, I'm glad they're watching you more closely this time. I know it stinks, but thank goodness for modern medicine. I hope the new medicine helps you feel more like yourself.
Wow! I know it's redundant when people say if there is anything I can do let me know and they never do anything; not to mention I am here and you are there, but you're in our prayers. Hang in there.
